Biography

Dr. Davood Nakhaie is a Research Associate with more than 13 years of experience in materials engineering, both in the laboratory and industry. His research interests primarily focus on corrosion, multiscale modeling, and hydrometallurgy. He is deeply passionate about metallurgy and corrosion science and has worked on a diverse range of studies, from pitting corrosion to soil corrosion to modeling.

During his Ph.D. studies at UBC, Davood developed a mathematical model that later became the core algorithm of Atrasim, an advanced planning, mitigation, and prediction software. This model estimates soil corrosion of buried galvanized steel structures. He earned his bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering and his master’s degree in corrosion from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran.

Apart from his academic pursuits, Davood is also a talented photographer. He enjoys capturing the beauty of the world around him through his lens. To view his portfolio and see more of his stunning images, please visit his website.
