Jessica (Yibo) Zhang is currently a Master’s student in Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC), under the supervision of Dr. Edouard Asselin and Dr. Roger Beckie. Her research focuses on passive bioelectrochemical systems for sulfate and metal removal from mine-impacted water. Before starting her master’s degree, she received her B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from UBC.

Outside of research, Jessica enjoys listening to music, working out, and travelling, which helps her maintain a healthy balance between academic and personal life.
